Announcing our Special Guest:
Colonel Don "Doc" Ballard (MOH, Retired US Army)
Since 1863, only 3,549 men and one woman have been awarded the Medal of Honor. Today there are only 63 living Medal of Honor recipients. The average American has a 0.000018% chance of meeting one in person.
But everyone who attends the Kansas City Regional Hambash will have the oppurtunity and honor to meet one in person!
Col. Don “Doc” Ballard (MoH, USA, retired), along with Donna Snow King W5SML, former star of the hit TV show “Texas Flip N Move” and author of three books - the latest is a novel about Texas rodeo kids solving a mystery with the help of their ham radios - along with her OM Rex W5EAK (Lt. Cmdr. USN, retired) will be together in their booth. Col. Ballard will also give a keynote speach at the event
The Kansas City Regions’ premier hamfest, the Ararat Shrine Hambash, now the Kansas City Hambash presented by the Raytown Amateur Radio Club, is being held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.
Since 1993, the Hambash has become the largest event of its kind in the NW Missouri, NE Kansas, SW Iowa, and SE Nebraska region for amateur radio enthusiasts. It combines a trade show, flea market, and various other activities of interest to amateur radio operators (hams). Our Hambash features demonstrations and sales booths for flea marketers, commercial vendors, and manufacturers of commercial amateur radio equipment.
Additional details will be provided soon. At the moment we are finalizing a venue and speakers for the event.
